- fresh ideas
- energy
- a unique viewpoint.
This is a unique opportunity to get on-the-job experience that will stand out on your résumé. As a SCiP intern, you will be involved meaningfully in the creation, implementation, or management of an initiative or program, gaining first-hand experience of the work done by the nonprofit/voluntary sector and an in-depth look at how the sector functions as a whole.

SCiP does not limit you to opportunities specific to your topics of studies as learning in the real world does not always fit neatly into majors and minors.
Recreation or Business students can now work on planning and development for children’s’ recreation programs. Students in both Education and Culinary Arts can work with immigrant serving organizations to develop learning opportunities for new Albertans. The possibilities are endless.
What current SCiP students say about their internships:
”It’s been an excellent experience”
“My internship was amazing. I got to work with amazing people and learn about a whole other side of writing and business. This opportunity will [be] extremely valuable in the future, as it allowed me to apply knowledge from my arts degree to a real world experience in an area of work I hope to enter. I loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone!”
“I love where I [am doing my internship], the lady who runs the center… is amazingly nice. From the first time I met her, she made it clear she wants this internship to benefit not only the organization, but me. She has helped create a mini program for me to be in charge of that is helping me gain experience relevant to my degree and what I would like to do upon graduation.”
“I have learned new skills and have been able to use this experience in the pursuit for a full time job!”
